Make no mistake about it, if you are running a keyword led campaign then your keywords will have more impact on your profitability that anything else. As I mentioned before then I know of people making thousands and thousands of dollars a month off just ONE keyword phrase.
Name your campaign something that will help you to identify it in the list of campaigns you may soon have, as this is a keyword targeted campaign then try the name of the market or product followed by ‘kw’ or ‘keywords’ in case later on your want to expand into a placement targeted campaign too.
The display URL and destination URL must lead to the same website, but you could use a tracking link in the destination URL as long as the person clicking ends up at the URL displayed to them on the ad. The display URL is just to display at the bottom of the ad so they know where they are heading to.
Adwords allows you to have more than one ad active for an ad group, it then rotates the ads and normally will keep the ad that gets the best response in place for a lot longer so you get the most amount of clicks.
That is ok – but if it keeps showing the best ad then when we test a new ad it will hardly ever get shown and it will take a lot longer for us to see if it works or not. That is why we went into the campaign settings and adjusted them so Google now rotates the ads evenly, so it always shows ads evenly.
